Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt Swap

I had the pleasure of participating in the second round of the Schnitzel and Boo mini quilt swap and it was so much fun!

But, wouldn’t ya know I forgot to take a picture of the finished mini in my rush to ship it out? The closest I have is this pic of me holding the pieced top. (I’ve had a few people ask for the pattern, so be on the lookout for that later this month).
The center is an existing fpp pattern called “Evening Star” which you can find on SwimBikeQuilt as part of her Summer Sampler Series. I added all the rest.
Here’s the goodie package I sent off.
I had to dig out my watercolors for that little quilt block painting.
(P.S. If you follow me on IG you’ll know I’m doing flash giveaways this summer. Last week I gave away an HST watercolor block and there’s many more giveaways to come!)
I also included some giant fabric-covered button bookmark clips and that cute little HST needlebook.
Also be on the lookout next week for a tutorial and a free giveaway of the extra needlebook I sewed up! Yes, it was my practice sample, but I think it’s charming that the text is upside down and one of the HSTs on the back is going the wrong way. 🙂
Lucky for me, my partner said she likes Michael Miller, so I was able to sneak in a few of my own fabrics from “Emma’s Garden” which isn’t available until next month!
And as ashamed as I am to admit it, this is the first time I’ve labeled one of my quilts. It’s such a nice touch though, I will be putting one of these babies on all my quilts in the future, especially those that are being gifted out.
Do you want to see what I received? (drum roll, please…)
Ta da!!!!  Eeeek, so cute!
Mary Claire (@splendorfalls on IG) made me a mini quilt AND a Sew Together bag!!! Not to mention an awesome Anna Maria Horner key fob and bunches of beauty goodies and yummies.
It quickly found a new home on my sewing room wall.
I especially love the random chevrons mixed in with the flying geese.
I had such a great experience with this swap that it inspired me to join a new swap almost immediately (while I’m waiting for the next Schnitzel and Boo swap, of course). It’s called Strawberry Swap and it’s hosted by Jamie Frampton (@frampuna on IG). Any of you have a favorite swap you’ve joined?
