"Backyard Baby" Strike/Offs Have Arrived!

What a great start to my 3-day weekend, I finally received the package I've been waiting for... my very first strike/offs for my Backyard Baby fabric collection for Michael Miller! Getting to see and hold them in my hands is something it seems like I've been waiting forever for, and seeing my very own selvage tag makes me want to dance a jig!

  2. Well hello, neighbor! I live just north of Katy, but my husband and I both work in Sugar Land, we love it out that way. :)

  5. I am so excited for you! I cannot imagine the excitement and I know if it were me I'd just sit there and stare at them for awhile :)
I was curious though, how did the strike offs compare to what Spoonflower printed, color-wise? pretty close, or..?

  6. Hi Gwen, actually most of the colors were pretty close. The biggest difference I saw was that the strike/offs have a lot more contrast and are less soft/subtle than the originals on Spoonflower. It'll be nice to see the actual yardage when it comes in!

  7. I am just holding my breath waiting for Backyard Baby to land in shops and have been circling back again and again to check for news. Do you think it will be widely available after the fall market? So exciting!

  8. I hope so! I will probably learn more at Market about where and when you can find them. I will definitely post updates and specific as I get them, yay!

  9. These are perfect! LOVE them. So, which shop online do you recommend to buy from? Spoonflower? Looking forward to when they are available there (or elsewhere!)

  10. GREAT! Thanks... Anywjere that sells a higher thread count with the print like spoonflower does?

  11. (or just let me know the thread count of the miller fabrics... seems like your prints are done on a higher quality fabric from what I can tell! )

I'll be making a quilt with a mix of backyard baby, bella butterfly and the wood prints from your spoonflower profile. I am a little excited, even though I am not ready to start yet.

    1. Sounds like it's going to be a unique and wonderful quilt! Anywhere you buy my Michael Miller fabrics will have the same thread count. I don't actually know what it is, but it is higher than what SF uses, hope that helps! :)

  12. Superb, AND, it's 1/3 the cost! Thanks Patty, I've been looking at making a quilt for the last month, and it didn't gel at all till I saw your fabrics. I've now designed the quilt, and cannot wait for the right time to begin. (kinda need a baby before you make a baby quilt right? LOL)
